Previously: When Sergeant Leo Vance returned home unannounced, he expected a warm family reunion. Instead, he found his younger sister on the floor, enduring horrific cruelty from the people who promised to protect her.

The Ultimate Justice

Leo tossed the envelope onto the marble floor at Victoria's feet.

"Open it,"

he commanded, his voice cold as ice. With trembling fingers, Victoria tore open the envelope. As her eyes scanned the documents inside, the remaining color drained from her face. It was an official forensic audit and a certified copy of their father's true, unaltered will, retrieved from his private attorney's off-site vault. The document clearly stated that the estate and the family fortune were to be split equally between Leo and Clara, with Victoria receiving only a modest monthly stipend—contingent on her maintaining the home for the children.

Furthermore, Leo had spent his final weeks of deployment working with military intelligence to track down the forged documents Victoria had used to declare him deceased. "The federal marshals are already at the gates, Victoria," Leo announced calmly.

"Forgeries, mail fraud, embezzlement, and physical abuse. You and Julian are going away for a very long time."

Right on cue, the heavy doors opened once more, and a team of armed officers marched into the hall, quickly handcuffing the speechless stepmother and her cowardly son.

As Victoria and Julian were led away in disgrace, the suffocating shadow that had hung over the Hawthorne estate finally lifted. Clara looked up at her brother, a genuine smile breaking through her tears for the first time in years. They had lost their father, but they had found each other again, stronger and more united than ever. True justice had prevailed, proving that no matter how deep the betrayal, the bond of family and truth can never be truly broken.
