The Secret Biker Tattoo That Saved a Runaway Girl From a Dangerous Trap
Previously: When seventeen-year-old Tess walked into a gritty diner and revealed a secret tattoo, she didn't expect a rugged biker to risk his life to save her from a dangerous confrontation.
The Brotherhood's Debt
Tess ran until her lungs burned, her sneakers slapping against the wet asphalt. Behind her, the roar of a single motorcycle engine grew louder. She ducked into a dark alley, her back pressed against the brick wall, bracing for the worst. But when the bike stopped, it was Slate who dismounted, his headlights cutting through the darkness.
"Get on,"
he commanded, his voice tight with anxiety. Tess hesitated for only a second before climbing onto the back of the heavy machine. They sped off into the night, leaving the neon lights of the diner far behind.
They pulled up to an abandoned warehouse on the edge of the county line. Slate shut off the engine and turned to her, his face etched with deep worry. He pointed directly at her forearm, where the winged skull tattoo sat.
"Where did you get that ink, kid? That design belongs to only one man. My brother, Marcus."
Tess’s voice trembled as she replied,
"Marcus was my father. He died three months ago. He told me if I was ever in trouble, I should find the men with this mark. But Butch didn't look like he wanted to help."
Slate let out a heavy sigh, running a hand over his bald head. He explained that Marcus had left the club years ago to protect Tess, but he had taken a secret with him—the location of a hidden stash of money that the club's current leader, Butch, claimed belonged to them. Butch had been hunting for Marcus's family ever since.
"Butch thinks you have the key to that money,"
Slate warned, his eyes scanning the dark perimeter.
"He won't stop until he gets it. And now that he knows you're alive, he'll hunt you to the ends of the earth."
