She Called Security on Her Ex-Husband, Realizing Too Late Who Owned the Mansion
Previously: When Catherine spotted her ex-husband Thomas holding the keys to a luxury Rolls Royce, she publicly humiliated him and called security. She had no idea he now owned the entire estate.
The Price of Arrogance
The head of security, a stern-faced man named Mr. Sterling, arrived at the scene with three guards in tow. Catherine immediately stepped forward, her voice dripping with authority.
"This man has bypassed our perimeter, stolen a set of keys, and is attempting to drive off in this Rolls Royce. I want him arrested and thrown off this property immediately!"she demanded, crossing her arms triumphantly.
Mr. Sterling looked at Thomas, then down at the keys peeking out of his pocket. To Catherine's utter bewilderment, the head of security did not move. Instead, his posture softened, and he took a respectful step back. "Ma'am, I cannot do that," Mr. Sterling said quietly.
"What do you mean you can't?" Catherine shrieked, her face turning crimson. "Do you know who I am? Do you know who my father is? He pays your salary!"
Before Mr. Sterling could answer, the heavy glass doors of the villa slid open, and Richard, Catherine’s father and the host of the gala, stepped out onto the driveway. He looked older, his face lined with a deep exhaustion that Catherine had ignored for months. Seeing her father, Catherine smiled maliciously.
"Father! Thank goodness you’re here. Look who crawled out of the gutter. Thomas is here trying to steal this car, and your security team is refusing to do their jobs!"she cried out, expecting her father to unleash his usual wrath.
But Richard didn’t look at Catherine. His eyes were locked on Thomas. Slowly, the older man walked past his daughter, his hands trembling slightly. The crowd held its breath as Richard stopped directly in front of his former son-in-law. Instead of shouting, Richard bowed his head in a gesture of absolute defeat and quiet desperation.
