Previously: When Catherine spotted her ex-husband Thomas holding the keys to a luxury Rolls Royce, she publicly humiliated him and called security. She had no idea he now owned the entire estate.

A New Master of the House

"Thank you for coming, Mr. Vance,"
Richard said, his voice cracking with emotion. He turned to his daughter, his eyes filled with shame. "Catherine, be quiet. You have no idea what you've done."

Catherine stared at her father, completely frozen. "Father, what are you talking about? Why are you calling him Mr. Vance? He's a nobody!"

Richard shook his head, a bitter tear escaping his eye. "He is not a nobody. He is the majority shareholder of Vance Enterprises. When our family business began to collapse last month due to your disastrous investments, it was Thomas who bought out our debt. He purchased our company, our assets, and yes... he purchased this very villa. We are standing on his property. And that Rolls Royce was delivered here today as a gift from his board of directors."

A collective gasp rippled through the gathered crowd. Catherine felt the ground slip out from beneath her feet. The man she had ridiculed, the husband she had discarded because she deemed him "not wealthy enough," now held her entire family's future in the palm of his hand.

Thomas looked at Catherine, his expression completely devoid of anger—only a calm, quiet pity remained.

"You always measured a person's worth by what they could afford, Catherine,"
Thomas said softly. "But you forgot that respect and integrity can't be bought. I didn't come here to ruin you. I came to sign the lease back to your father so he wouldn't lose his home. But after today, I think we will be renegotiating the terms."

Without another word, Thomas pressed the unlock button on his key fob. The headlights of the magnificent Rolls Royce flashed in the bright daylight. He opened the door, stepped inside, and started the engine. As the luxury vehicle glided smoothly down the concrete driveway, Catherine stood in the middle of the crowd, utterly humiliated and entirely ruined by her own arrogance.

True wealth is never measured by the car you drive or the clothes you wear, but by the character you show when you think no one is watching.
