She Called Security on a Quiet Guest, Unaware He Owned the Entire Estate
Previously: When Penelope saw Vincent holding the keys to a luxury Rolls Royce, she immediately called security to throw him out. But she had no idea who Vincent actually was.
The Arrival of Security
Within moments, two burly security guards in dark suits rushed down the stone steps. Penelope smirked, crossing her arms over her taupe blazer.
"Take this imposter out of here,"she demanded, gesturing wildly at Vincent.
"He's trying to steal this Rolls Royce, and frankly, he doesn't even belong at a high-society event like this. Look at him!"
The head of security, a seasoned officer named Marcus, stepped forward. He looked at Vincent, then at the keys in Vincent's hand. Instead of grabbing Vincent, Marcus stood at attention and bowed his head slightly.
"Is there a problem here, Mr. Vance?"Marcus asked respectfully.
Penelope’s jaw dropped.
"Mr. Vance? What are you doing? Arrest him!"she shrieked, her voice cracking with embarrassment as several high-profile guests began to whisper among themselves.
Before Marcus could answer, the heavy oak doors of the mansion swung open. Charles, Penelope's husband and the host of the gala, rushed out. His forehead was slick with sweat, and his face was pale. He had heard the commotion from the balcony and had run down as fast as his legs could carry him.
"Penelope! Shut your mouth this instant!"Charles roared, stumbling onto the gravel driveway. He ignored his wife's shocked expression and threw himself directly in front of Vincent, bowing nervously.
"Mr. Vance, please accept my humblest apologies. My wife... she did not know who you were."
Vincent looked down at Charles, his expression cool and unreadable.
"It seems your wife believes I cannot afford the hubcaps on my own vehicle, Charles,"Vincent said softly, though his voice carried clearly across the silent courtyard.
Penelope stared at her husband in utter horror.
"Charles, what is the meaning of this? Who is this man?"she whispered, her previous arrogance completely vanishing.
