She Forced Her Mother-in-Law to Polish Her Shoes, Then the Lawyer Walked In
Previously: When arrogant Victoria forced her fiancé's mother to kneel and polish her shoes, she thought she owned the mansion. But a sudden arrival with legal papers turned her world upside down.
A Lesson in True Worth
Victoria stood in the center of the magnificent living room, but she had never looked smaller. The luxury that she had craved and fought so dirtily to claim was now completely out of her reach. She looked at Thomas, then at Julian, hoping to find a shred of sympathy, but there was none.
"This is a mistake! You can't do this to me!"
Victoria shrieked, clutching her designer purse.
Thomas stepped forward, handing her a duplicate copy of the deed transfer.
"The transfer is fully legal and finalized, Miss Victoria. Furthermore, Julian's signature on the engagement contract is now null and void due to a breach of the moral conduct clause. You have thirty minutes to pack your belongings and leave this property,"
the lawyer stated firmly.
With a cry of rage, Victoria turned on her heel and stormed up the stairs, her expensive heels clicking loudly against the hardwood floor she had just forced Helen to clean. She knew her dream of wealth and status was shattered forever.
Once she was gone, Julian turned to his mother, tears shining in his eyes. He knelt down before her, taking her worn hands in his.
"Mom, I am so incredibly sorry. I should have seen through her sooner. I almost let her ruin our family,"
he whispered.
Helen smiled gently, lifting his chin. She didn't hold any anger in her heart.
"You don't need to apologize, sweetheart. Your father always knew how to protect us, even from heaven. The important thing is that we are safe, and we have each other,"
she said softly.
As they embraced, the true warmth of the home returned, proving that a house is never built on greed and pride, but on the enduring strength of love and mutual respect.
