She Humiliated Him Over A Luxury Car, Unaware He Owned Her Entire Company
Previously: When arrogant Lydia accused Christian of stealing a Rolls Royce at a high-society party, she thought she was saving the day. She had no idea the quiet guest held the keys to her entire future.
A Dramatic Reversal of Fortune
Christian shook Arthur’s hand warmly, the slight smile never leaving his face. "No worries at all, Arthur. It's a beautiful day for a drive anyway."
Lydia stood frozen, her face draining of all color. "Mr. Vance... I don't understand. Why are you shaking hands with a disgraced ex-employee? He was fired for incompetence!"
Arthur turned to Lydia, his expression cold and professional. "Christian didn't get fired, Lydia. He resigned because he was preparing to acquire the majority shares of my company. As of ten minutes ago, the acquisition is complete. Christian is now the primary shareholder of Vance Global. He is, quite literally, your new boss."
A collective gasp rippled through the crowd of onlookers. Lydia looked as if she might faint. The very man she had tried to publicly humiliate and destroy was now the sole owner of her career.
"Furthermore," Arthur continued, gesturing to the sleek black Rolls Royce, "this vehicle was a welcoming gift from the board of directors to celebrate his new leadership. I suggest you apologize to your new employer, Lydia, though I doubt it will save your position after this appalling display."
Lydia trembled, looking at Christian with wide, pleading eyes. "Christian... I... I didn't know. It was a misunderstanding. Please..." she stammered, her voice cracking in front of everyone.
Christian unlocked the Rolls Royce, the headlights flashing in response. He looked at Lydia one last time, his gaze cool and untroubled. "Some people judge others by their position, Lydia. I prefer to judge them by their character. Your services will no longer be required at Vance Global. Have a wonderful afternoon."
With that, Christian stepped into the luxurious vehicle, started the engine, and drove smoothly out of the courtyard, leaving a stunned, silent crowd and a ruined Lydia standing in his dust. True power doesn't need to shout to be heard; it simply waits for the truth to speak for itself.
