She Locked His Father in a Casket Claiming He Had a Deadly Disease
Previously: When Leo rushes to say goodbye to his late father, his stepmother Maria blocks the casket, claiming a contagious disease. But the horrifying truth waiting inside is far worse than any virus.
Justice and New Beginnings
The revelation hit Leo like a physical blow. He turned to face Maria, but she was already backing toward the door, her eyes darting around the room like a trapped animal.
"It was supposed to be mine!"she shrieked, her composure completely shattered.
"He was going to leave everything to you anyway! I spent years catering to his every whim, and I wasn't going to end up with nothing!"
But Maria had made one fatal mistake. In her rush to secure the estate, she hadn't realized that Leo had already called the local sheriff on his way to the house, suspicious of the sudden, secret funeral arrangements. Just as Maria reached the double doors, they swung open. Two police officers stepped into the drawing room, handguns drawn. Behind them was the family lawyer, holding a folder containing the true, unaltered will.
Maria was swiftly handcuffed, her loud protests echoing down the hallway as she was led away in disgrace. Leo knelt beside his father, wrapping him in a warm embrace as the paramedics rushed into the room to tend to Arthur's dehydration.
"I've got you, Dad,"Leo whispered, tears of relief finally spilling over.
"You're safe now."
It was later revealed that Maria had poisoned Arthur with a mild paralytic to mimic death, rushing the funeral process before an autopsy could be performed. Thanks to Leo's stubborn love and refusal to back down, Arthur was saved just in time. The estate remained in the family, but more importantly, the bond between father and son was forged stronger than ever. True family is defined not by the wealth we inherit, but by the lengths we will go to protect the ones we love.
