She Thought the Rough Biker Group Was a Threat Until He Revealed His True Identity
Previously: Standing alone in the freezing cold, nineteen-year-old Chloe feared the approaching motorcycle club. But their rugged leader carried a secret that would change her life forever.
A Guardian Angel in Leather
An hour later, the roar of a dozen motorcycle engines echoed through the quiet suburban neighborhood where Chloe’s stepfather lived. Richard opened his front door, a smug sneer on his face, expecting to find a defenseless nineteen-year-old girl ready to surrender. Instead, his face drained of color as he looked past Chloe and saw a wall of imposing bikers standing shoulder-to-shoulder on his front lawn, led by Marcus.
Richard tried to bluster, pointing a finger at Marcus. "You have no right to be here! This is private property!" he yelled, though his voice trembled. Marcus stepped forward, his towering frame completely eclipsing the light from the hallway. He didn't raise his voice, but the cold steel in his tone made Richard flinch.
"We have every right, Richard. We're here to collect Chloe's belongings, and to make sure you understand that she is no longer alone. If you ever come near her, call her, or even think about her again, you'll have to answer to all of us."
Seeing the sheer force backing his stepdaughter, Richard realized his reign of terror was over. He stepped aside, silently allowing Chloe to retrieve her personal belongings and her mother’s legal documents. Within thirty minutes, Chloe walked out of the house for the last time, her head held high.
As they prepared to leave, Marcus handed Chloe an envelope. Inside was a bank key and a letter from her late father. Thomas had set up a trust fund that Richard could never touch, enough to pay for her college education and secure her future. "Your dad loved you more than anything," Marcus smiled, handing her an extra helmet. "Now, let's get you home."
Chloe looked back at the house that had felt like a prison, then at the rugged family of riders waiting for her. She realized that family isn't always defined by blood; sometimes, it’s chosen by those who stand by you when the world gets cold.
