Previously: When young Leo wandered into a high-end jewelry boutique, he pointed at a rare heirloom. His words triggered a long-buried secret that changed a grieving family's life forever.

The Ghost of the Past

Clara fell to her knees on the polished marble floor, ignoring the dust on her designer lace dress.

"Who is your mother, sweetheart?"

she whispered, her voice cracking.

"Where is she?"

Leo reached into his small backpack and pulled out a worn, yellowed envelope.

"Her name was Elena,"

he said softly, wiping a tear from his cheek.

"She told me she was born in a fire, and that a kind nurse saved her. But she was very sick last month. Before she went to heaven, she gave me this letter and told me to find the beautiful shop with the golden lights."

Arthur took the letter with trembling fingers. As he unfolded the fragile paper, the elegant handwriting of their long-lost daughter filled the page. Elena had spent her entire life trying to find the parents who had commissioned the beautiful silver bracelet she had kept as her only link to her past. The nurse who rescued her had kept her safe but had passed away before she could reunite them, leaving Elena to grow up in foster care.

"She was our baby,"

Clara sobbed, burying her face in her hands.

"Our sweet Elena survived that awful night, and we never knew."

But the revelation brought a bittersweet sting. Elena was gone, but she had sent her son, Leo, back to them. Yet, a shadow of doubt remained. How could they be absolutely certain this wasn't a cruel hoax designed to exploit their wealth and grief? Arthur knew they had to be sure.

"We need to do a test, Clara,"

Arthur whispered, his eyes locked on the boy who carried their daughter's eyes.
