Previously: When Sergeant Marcus Thorne heard a nurse’s desperate screams in a hospital corridor, he didn't hesitate to attack. But saving her was only the beginning of a deadly cover-up.

Justice Prevails

Just as Peterson stepped forward to grab Clara, a commanding voice echoed from the elevator lobby.

"I suggest you drop your weapons immediately."

Stepping into the hallway was General Thomas Thorne, Marcus’s father, flanked by four armed military police officers and two federal agents. Marcus had quietly triggered an emergency alert on his tactical radio the moment he heard Clara's first scream, knowing his father's security detail was waiting downstairs.

Arthur’s face drained of color.

"General Thorne? What is the meaning of this? This is a private facility!"

The General glared at Arthur with absolute disdain.

"This facility is currently under federal investigation,"

the General replied coldly.

"We've been monitoring your company's illegal activities for months, Mr. Vance. We just needed the internal data to secure the warrant. And it seems Nurse Evans has exactly what we need."

Clara stepped forward, tears of relief streaming down her face as she handed the USB drive to the lead federal agent.

"It’s all here. The falsified trial results, the bribe payments to the hospital board, and the names of everyone involved."

Chief Peterson and his corrupt guards slowly lowered their weapons, realizing their protection money could no longer save them. The federal agents quickly handcuffed a protesting Arthur, dragging him away alongside the disgraced security chief. Marcus turned to Clara, offering a warm, reassuring smile.

"You're safe now, Clara. Your bravery just saved countless lives."

Clara looked up at the heroic soldier and his loyal dog, feeling a profound sense of peace for the first time in years. Out of the darkest betrayal, a new hope had emerged. True justice cannot be bought, and sometimes, the greatest heroes appear exactly when we need them most.
