Chloe's face went pale, the anger instantly draining from her eyes as she stared at the official blue seal on the envelope Leo held. She lunged forward to grab it, but Leo stepped back, keeping it safely out of her reach. Martha looked between her two children, confusion and hope warring in her tired eyes.

"Leo, what is that?"

she whispered.

"It's Dad's real will, Mom,"

Leo explained, his voice softening as he looked at Martha.

"He signed this two weeks before he passed. He left the entire estate, the house, and the savings accounts directly to you. Chloe knew about this. She found it first and hid it, forcing you to believe you were dependent on her mercy."

The room fell dead silent. Chloe began to stammer, her confidence completely shattered.

"It... it's a fake! You made that up!"

she cried, but her trembling hands gave her away.

Martha stood up slowly, her knees aching, but her posture straighter than it had been in years. She looked at the daughter she had pampered and feared, and then at the wet floor. For the first time, the gentle mother found her voice.

"Get out of my house, Chloe,"

Martha said, her tone quiet but unbreakable.

"You will pack your bags, and you will leave today. I loved you, but I will not let you destroy this family anymore."

Realizing her reign of terror was officially over, Chloe grabbed her purse and stormed out of the house, leaving a trail of wet footprints behind her. Leo wrapped his arm around his mother's shoulders as she let out a long-overdue sigh of relief. They finally had their home back, free from tyranny and filled with the warmth of true justice.
