A Sudden Intruder

The air inside the Rusty Anchor was thick with the scent of stale beer, cheap tobacco, and motor oil. It was a dusty, sunlit biker bar where outsiders rarely dared to tread. At a heavy wooden table in the corner sat Brock, a massive bald biker whose arms were covered in intricate, dark tattoos. He was a man who feared nothing, accustomed to the rough-and-tumble lifestyle of the highway. But the peace of the afternoon was shattered when the double doors burst open with a violent slam.

A boy, no older than eleven, stumbled into the bar. His name was Hunter. He had messy blonde hair, a face smudged with dirt, and a torn pocket t-shirt that clung to his sweaty chest. Panting heavily, his eyes darting around in sheer terror, he bypassed the regular patrons and ran straight toward Brock's table. Without hesitation, the boy grabbed the biker's massive arm, his small fingers trembling.

"Please. Help me," Hunter pleaded, his voice cracking with emotion.

Brock looked down at the child, his expression hardening. His voice, when he spoke, was deep and gravelly, carrying the weight of decades on the road.

"Who's after you, kid?" Brock asked, narrowing his eyes.
"They're coming," Hunter whispered, looking back at the door as if expecting a horde of monsters to breach it.
"Why here?" Brock asked, genuinely puzzled. "This isn't a playground."
"My father told me... come here if I was in trouble," Hunter explained, looking up earnestly into the giant's eyes.

Brock leaned in closer, his curiosity piqued but his suspicion still high. "What's his name?"

The young boy took a shaky breath, tears welling in his eyes. He leaned in and whispered a name that carried a legendary, terrifying weight across the underworld.

"John Wick," Hunter whispered.

Brock froze in absolute shock. The color drained from his weathered face. "No. That's impossible," he muttered. Slowly, his hand reached into his leather vest, pulling out a heavy, shining gold continental coin. He pressed it into Hunter's palm, stood up abruptly, and roared across the bar, "Lock the doors!"
