Mitchell allowed his security team to help him to his feet. Though his clothes were soaked and his face was bruised from the mugging he had endured hours earlier, he stood with an undeniable air of authority. Terence, realizing the gravity of the situation, came scrambling out of the cafe door, his previous arrogance completely vanished. He was trembling, his face pale as paper.

"Mr. Vance! Oh my goodness, I had no idea!" Terence stammered, his voice cracking. "Please, come inside! I was just about to call the authorities myself. This boy, Logan, he was being completely unprofessional, but I—"

Mitchell raised a single hand, and Terence instantly went silent, his mouth hanging open. Mitchell looked at the sniveling manager with utter disdain.

"You threw me to the curb when I was bleeding, and you fired the only person who showed me humanity," Mitchell said, his voice cold as ice. "By tomorrow morning, your lease on this building is terminated. You have twelve hours to pack your things and vacate my property."

Terence looked as if he might faint, whispering plea after plea, but Mitchell ignored him entirely. He turned his attention back to Logan, who was standing there dazed, drenched, and holding a soggy paper cup.

"You lost your job tonight because of me, Logan," Mitchell said softly, placing a warm hand on the young man's shoulder. "But I think it's time for a promotion. How would you like to run this place? I will fund a complete renovation, and you will be the new owner."

Logan could barely speak, tears mixing with the rain on his cheeks. He had gone from being a fired waiter to the owner of his own establishment in a matter of minutes.

"I... I don't know what to say, sir. Thank you," Logan managed to choke out.

"No, thank you, Logan," Mitchell smiled. "You reminded me that kindness still exists."
