A Kind Waiter Is Fired for Helping a Bruised Stranger on a Rainy Night
Previously: When 18-year-old waiter Levi rushed into the freezing rain to save a collapsed stranger, his heartless boss fired him on the spot. He had no idea who the stranger really was.
Act 2: The Storm Inside
Levi sat on the wet pavement, the harsh reality of his situation sinking in. He had just lost the job that kept his family afloat. Yet, looking at the bruised man beside him, he couldn't bring himself to regret it. The man, who introduced himself as Miles, struggled to stand. Levi supported him, guiding him under the small awning of the closed shop next door to escape the torrential downpour.
Inside the warm cafe, Timothy watched them with a smug smirk, already wiping down the counter Levi had left behind. He believed he had successfully purged his establishment of a troublemaker and a useless waiter. But the peace did not last long. Within ten minutes, the quiet street was illuminated by the bright headlights of three luxury black SUVs. They pulled up to the curb with a screech of tires, blocking the entrance to the cafe.
Several men in sharp, dark suits quickly stepped out, holding large umbrellas. They didn't look like medical staff; they looked like high-level security. The lead man rushed directly toward Miles, bowing his head slightly in deep respect.
"Sir, we've been looking everywhere for you. Are you alright?"the lead security officer asked, his voice filled with urgency.
Miles nodded slowly, leaning on Levi.
"I was ambushed near the docks. My phone was dead until I managed to get it working. This young man saved me. He kept me conscious, and he lost his job because of it."
Timothy, watching the scene unfold from behind the glass, felt a cold knot of dread form in his stomach. The sleek vehicles, the suited men, the sheer authority radiating from the bruised stranger—it didn't make sense. He hurriedly unlocked the door and stepped out, his voice suddenly dripping with false concern.
"Is everything alright out here? I was just about to call the police for this vagrant..."
Miles turned his piercing gaze toward Timothy, and the temperature seemed to drop even lower than the rainy night.
"I am no vagrant,"Miles said, his voice steady and cold.
”Miles said, his voice steady and cold.
