The Clash of Two Worlds

The VIP maternity wing of St. Jude’s Hospital was a sanctuary of quiet luxury, filled with the soft hum of state-of-the-art monitors and the scent of fresh lilies. Inside the glass-walled suite, Rebecca cradled her newborn son, her face glowing with the fragile joy of new motherhood. Standing beside her just moments before was her husband, Charles, a man whose navy blue designer suit and rigid posture spoke of immense wealth and zero tolerance for imperfection.

But the peace was shattered when Charles noticed a figure lingering in the corridor. An elderly woman, clad in a faded grey winter coat and a worn knit headscarf, was peering through the glass. In her frail hands, she clutched a simple brown paper bag. To Charles, she was an eyesore, an intruder threatening the pristine safety of his family’s private sanctuary.

Without a word, Charles stormed out of the room. His boots clicked sharply against the polished tiles. Blinded by prejudice and an overbearing urge to control, he didn't ask questions. He didn't offer a polite warning. Instead, with shocking brutality, Charles raised his foot and kicked the elderly woman from behind.

"Ugh!"

The elderly woman, Dorothy, gasped in pain as the force of the blow sent her crashing hard onto the cold floor. The brown paper bag ripped open, sending a dozen bright red apples scattering across the sterile white tiles. Inside the room, Rebecca witnessed the horrific act. Her eyes widened in sheer terror. She began to scream, her voice muffled by the thick glass.

"Ah! Ah! Stop it, Charles! Stop!"

Rebecca frantically banged her hands against the glass pane, her heart hammering against her ribs as she watched the helpless woman groan in agony on the floor. Charles stood over Dorothy, his face a mask of cold arrogance, completely unaware of the storm he had just unleashed.
