Previously: When William returned early from his business trip, he expected a warm welcome. Instead, he found his wife humiliating an elderly woman on her knees—unaware of who she truly was.

The Secret Revealed

William ignored his wife's fake smile. He rushed past her, dropping his coat, and knelt on the cold marble floor. He gently took the wet rag from Beatrice's trembling, wrinkled hands and pulled her into a warm embrace. Beatrice buried her face in his chest, her tears soaking his charcoal grey suit.

"I'm so sorry, William," Beatrice whispered. "I didn't mean to make a mess."

Scarlett stared at them in utter bewilderment and disgust.

"William, what are you doing?" she snapped. "Why are you hugging the maid? She's clumsy and ruined the floor!"
Luke stepped forward, his head hung in shame.
"I tried to stop her, William," Luke admitted softly. "But Scarlett threatened to throw me out of the family business if I interfered."

William stood up, keeping one arm protectively around his mother. He glared at Scarlett, his heart breaking at the realization of who his wife truly was.

"She is not just a maid, Scarlett," William said, his voice cold as ice. "She is my mother."

The foyer fell into a stunned silence. Scarlett's jaw dropped, her hand flying to her pearl necklace.

"Your... your mother?" she stammered. "But you said your mother passed away years ago!"
"I said we were separated," William corrected her. "I searched for her for fifteen years. When I finally found her living in a run-down apartment, she refused to take my money. She wanted to work. So I hired her here, hoping you two would bond before I told you the truth. But now I see your true colors."
