Previously: Wrongfully imprisoned, Sarah escapes when she hears of her sister's sudden death. Armed with an axe at the funeral, she smashes the casket—only to unleash a truth that terrifies everyone present.

The Voice from the Dark

From the depths of the fractured casket, a faint, desperate scratching sound echoed. It was followed by a weak, muffled cough. The sound sent a collective shiver through the gathered mourners. Eleanor’s face drained of color, turning a ghostly white, while David’s hands began to shake uncontrollably. He knew exactly what that sound meant, and the panic in his eyes confirmed Sarah’s worst fears.

"Get her away from there! She’s a fugitive!" Eleanor shrieked, waving her hands frantically at the funeral home staff. "Call the police! She’s insane!"

But Sarah refused to back down. She dropped the axe handle and began clawing at the splintered wood of the casket lid with her bare hands, ignoring the sharp pain of wood digging into her fingers. "Emma! Emma, I'm here!" she cried out. David lunged forward, grabbing Sarah by the shoulders and throwing her backward onto the carpeted floor. He tried to block the casket with his body, his face twisted in a desperate attempt to maintain control of the situation.

Just then, the heavy double doors of the chapel burst open again. Three police officers, alerted to an escaped convict in the area, rushed in with their weapons drawn. "Step away from the casket! Hands where we can see them!" the lead officer commanded, his eyes locked on Sarah’s orange jumpsuit.

Sarah scrambled to her knees, raising her hands but pointing desperately at the shattered white box. "Please! You have to look inside!" she begged, tears streaming down her face. "They drugged her! They tried to bury my sister alive to keep her quiet! Just listen to the casket!" The lead officer hesitated, his gaze shifting from the desperate woman to the pale, sweating faces of Eleanor and David. In the tense silence, another weak, scraping sound came from inside the dark void.
