A Father Comes Home Early to Find His Daughter Scrubbing His Stepmother’s Floors
Previously: When Philip returned home early from a business trip, he expected a quiet evening. Instead, he found his beloved daughter Lucy on her knees in a maid's uniform, crying.
A Father's Justice
Philip reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a sleek black tablet. He unlocked the screen and turned it toward Elizabeth. On the display was a live feed of the foyer, recording every second of Elizabeth's cruelty from a hidden security camera he had installed just before his trip.
"I didn't come home early by accident, Elizabeth," Philip said, his voice deadly calm. "Our housekeeper called me on the first night. She was too terrified of you to intervene, but she told me enough to make me look at the cameras. I watched you humiliate my daughter. I watched you threaten her."
Elizabeth's face turned pale. The champagne glass slipped from her fingers, shattering on the white marble tiles she had forced Lucy to clean. The amber liquid pooled around her expensive heels.
"Philip, please," she stammered, her voice trembling. "We can talk about this. I was just trying to be a mother to her..."
"You are nothing to her," Philip interrupted coldly. "And you are nothing to me. Our prenuptial agreement states very clearly that any form of abuse or harassment toward my family immediately voids your right to any alimony or assets. You are leaving this house tonight with exactly what you brought into it—nothing."
Philip called for the estate security. Within minutes, two guard officers escorted a weeping, screaming Elizabeth out of the grand double doors and into the dark night. Her reign of terror was over.
Philip turned back to his daughter, pulling her into a warm, protective embrace. He promised her that she would never have to cry in this house again, and that her mother's memory would always be safe.
