My Husband's Secret Affair Was Exposed on the Ballroom Floor During Our Anniversary Waltz
Previously: When Julian stopped spinning me on our tenth anniversary, I thought he was just out of breath. Then his mistress stepped onto the dance floor, wearing my grandmother's missing diamond necklace.
The sound of distant sirens began to echo through the grand windows of the Plaza Hotel. Julian panicked, grabbing my shoulders. "Clara, you did this! You set me up!"
The Final Waltz
I looked down at his hands on my shoulders, feeling absolutely nothing for the man I had loved for ten years. "I didn't have to set you up, Julian," I said softly, loud enough for his father and Victoria to hear. "You did this to yourself when you thought you could treat me like a fool. Did you really think I didn't notice the missing necklace? Or the missing millions from our joint accounts?"

Victoria took a step back, realizing the sinking ship she had climbed aboard. She reached up to unclasp the necklace, but I stepped in front of her. "Keep it, Victoria," I whispered. "It's a fake anyway. I had the real one moved to a bank vault months ago. The one you're wearing is a cheap glass replica I planted in the safe to see who would take it."
Victoria's face fell in horror as she realized she had exposed her affair and her complicity in Julian's crimes for worthless glass. Just then, the ballroom doors burst open, and several police officers stepped inside. Arthur pointed directly at his son, refusing to let his family's legacy be completely destroyed by Julian's greed.
"Take him," Arthur told the officers, refusing to look his son in the eye. "He has stolen from my company and my family for the last time."
As they led a shouting, desperate Julian out of the ballroom in handcuffs, I felt a massive weight lift from my chest. The guests watched in stunned silence as I turned to the orchestra. I gave them a polite nod, straightened my dress, and walked out of the ballroom alone, ready to start a new chapter of my life. True elegance is not found in the diamonds we wear, but in the strength we find to walk away from those who try to diminish our sparkle.
