Arthur turned his gaze slowly toward the large oil painting. The portrait showed a young, ambitious man standing proudly in front of the very first Vanderbilt boutique. A soft, knowing smile played on Arthur’s lips as he looked at the canvas. Richard took his silence as defeat and scoffed, preparing to signal the security guard standing near the entrance.

"I didn't think so,"

Richard muttered, crossing his arms over his chest.

"This establishment was built on prestige, elegance, and exclusivity. It is not a playground for tourists or people who just want to window shop. I suggest you take the girl and leave before I have you escorted out in front of everyone."

Arthur didn't flinch. Instead, he took a step closer to the counter, his eyes still fixed on the painting with a strange look of nostalgia.

"That portrait was painted in the winter of 1978,"

Arthur said, his voice remarkably calm and steady.

Sarah and Richard exchanged a brief, uneasy look, but Richard quickly recovered his arrogant composure.

Richard spat, though a seed of doubt had clearly been planted in his mind.
