Richard’s posture changed instantly. He smoothed his tie and rushed out from behind the counter, bowing slightly as he approached the powerful woman.

"Welcome, Ms. Vanderbilt! We weren't expecting you until tomorrow,"

Richard stammered, casting a quick, nervous glance back at Arthur and Lily.

"I apologize for the disturbance. I was just about to remove these trespassers."

Evelyn stopped in her tracks. Her eyes bypassed Richard entirely and locked onto the elderly man in the corduroy jacket. Her face softened, and a bright smile broke across her face.

"Father?"

she gasped, stepping past the stunned manager. She wrapped her arms around Arthur in a warm embrace, before kneeling down to hug Lily.

"What are you doing here? You promised me you'd stay retired and let me handle the city stores!"

Richard felt the blood drain from his face. Sarah gripped the edge of the glass counter, her knuckles turning white. The 'trespasser' they had just insulted was Arthur Vanderbilt, the legendary founder of the entire luxury empire.

"I wanted to see how our legacy was being treated, Evelyn,"

Arthur said softly, but his voice carried immense weight.

"And I am deeply disappointed. I founded this store on the belief that beauty and elegance should inspire everyone, not just those with deep pockets. These two employees have forgotten what true service means."

Evelyn stood up, her expression turning ice-cold as she looked at Richard and Sarah.

"You are both terminated, effective immediately,"

she announced. She then turned to the head of security.

"Please escort them off the premises."

As the disgraced employees were led away, Arthur turned back to the glass display case. He pointed to the beautiful diamond necklace Lily had admired.

"Wrap this up for my granddaughter,"

Arthur smiled, looking down at Lily's beaming face.

"And remember, my sweet girl, never let anyone make you feel like you don't belong."
