A Wealthy Businessman Finds His Estranged Daughter Scrubbing His Mansion Floors
Previously: When wealthy Robert walked into his grand foyer, the last person he expected to see scrubbing his floors was Sarah, the daughter he hadn't seen in ten long years.
The Ultimate Choice
The revelation hung heavily in the opulent room. Catherine’s shock quickly morphed into cold anger. She sneered, looking at Sarah’s cheap uniform.
"I see. So you came here to beg for money? To latch onto our wealth?"
Catherine hissed, stepping closer to Sarah.
"Well, you won't get a single dime from this family. Robert, tell her to leave. Or better yet, call the police for trespassing!"
Sarah finally looked up, her auburn eyes flashing with a dignity that money could never buy.
"I didn't know this was his house, Catherine. I was sent here by an agency because my mother passed away last month, leaving behind medical debts I can't afford. I came here to work. Unlike him, I actually earn my living."
The mention of his late ex-wife broke something inside Robert. He looked at his daughter—the living legacy of the woman he had loved and abandoned—and then at Catherine, whose life was defined by cruelty and superficial status. For ten years, he had been a coward. He decided he wouldn't be one for another second.
"She doesn't need to leave,"
Robert said quietly, but his voice carried a dangerous weight. He reached into his pocket, took out his house keys, and dropped them onto the marble floor.
"I do."
Catherine gasped, her face twisting in disbelief.
"Robert! What are you doing? If you walk out that door with her, you leave with nothing! My father owns this estate, and he owns your firm!"
"Then he can keep it,"
Robert said, looking at Catherine with absolute clarity.
"I've spent ten years living in a prison of gold. I lost my daughter once. I am not losing her again."
Robert turned to Sarah, tears welling in his eyes, and offered her his hand. After a long, agonizing pause, Sarah reached out and took it. As they walked out of the mansion together, leaving the screaming Catherine behind, Robert knew the road to forgiveness would be long, but for the first time in a decade, he was finally free.
True wealth is never measured by the size of your house, but by the love and family you are willing to protect.
